This is a relative question. It depends on whats expensive to you. If paying more than a couple hundred dollars for live entertainment is out of your budget range, then you’re probably best suited with your own speakers and Spotify/iTunes/Pandora. If you’ve hired live entertainment before, then you’ll find yourself surprised by how much we offer, and for how little. Many DJs make you request pricing. This is for several reasons, including but not limited to, adjustments to pricing depending on years and even seasons, maintaining insulation from competing DJ services, and also to offer you what they call “the best deal out there” while softening the price-tag shock from reading it cold, off of a webpage. They want the opportunity to sell it to you. Because it doesn’t sell itself. We’re not here to serve the industry by hiding behind ‘trade secrets’, or to serve ourselves. We’re here to serve you. Therefore, whether you’ve hired a professional before or not, we’re proud to advertise a base cost of $560 for four hours of performing, also including setup and teardown time, and $140/hour for each additional hour*. No, out of respect for our clients privacy the event is for you and your guests only. If perspective clients want to hear samples of the DJ works, they can listen to the demos that we will provide.

Choosing Hollow House Entertainment means you will see the manager and the DJ at the event.
A 4-Hour event means four hours of entertainment. There is no charge for the set-up one hour prior to the event, breakdown and travel time. The DJ will come dressed to your requirements depending on the event type, music ranging from classical to current top forty to choose from and a DJ who can also serve as an MC for your event.
A backup DJ will be provided.  The Manager will organize a backup DJ for you if the primary DJ is unavailable and provide you with their contact details as well as providing them with all of the relevant information for your wedding.

We require a $100.00 non-refundable retainer to secure all event dates. You will receive a signed contract and we can provide you with an invoice if necessary. Final payment is due on or before the event date according to the terms stated in the contract. Payment can be by cash, check, PayPal or Credit Card.
Yes, you will just need to let the DJ or the Manager me know, so they can stop the music at the most appropriate time for the special messages to be read.
We welcome your questions no matter what! It doesn’t hurt to check. Contact us about any event, and we’ll review the details thoroughly before making any guarantees on what we can do. In most cases, 45-60 days in advance is preferable (comparable to the industry standard of 60-90 days) so we can have time to work out logistics on our end. Even if there is little advance notice, we welcome your inquiry, just in case we have openings. Advanced booking does require a $100 deposit.

Yes, it is very important to confirm your booking in writing. Our terms and your requests will be clearly defined to avoid future problems. The agreement protects all parties involved.
We have many past clients who can verify the quality of our services. We have each event evaluated by all of our customers.
Yes we do have bilingual Dj's available as well. Just use the quote request form and select Spanish in the language selection list and we will be happy to help you.
Customers should have a 10x10 foot area for set-up and at least three duplex receptacles, at 115-120V at 15 Amps, for a total of six outlets. Hollow House Entertainment will provide the rest. Also if customer wants to utilize a fog machine, please make sure the facility being used is safe for the fog machine and will not set off the fire system. If you booked a venue facility, we can coordinate directly with the management to ensure you don't have to provide anything.
The show can be performed either inside or outside as long as it can safely accommodate the party guests.
Yes and we have over time rates that we can discuss with you at your meeting. The rates very depending on length of time needed, date and the type of event.
Yes, music is our business and with our extensive music collections we will most likely have the song or songs you are looking for. The only thing we ask is that you list any such requests at least 2 weeks prior to the date of your event.
Any additional costs above our base price will be discussed before your event. There will be no "sticker shock".
